What is HVO100?

HVO100 is refuelled and used in much the same way as conventional diesel. For many drivers, this means no major changes in everyday life, but a more conscious choice at the pump.

  1. HVO stands for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil.
  2. The fuel is produced from renewable residues and waste materials.
  3. HVO100 can replace fossil diesel in approved vehicles.
  4. It is used in much the same way as diesel, but has a significantly better carbon footprint.

Why is HVO100 more sustainable than diesel?

The main advantage of HVO100 lies in the origin of the fuel. Because it is produced from residues and waste materials, it can replace fossil diesel and significantly reduce carbon emissions. Depending on the application, CO₂ emissions can be reduced by up to 90 per cent.

HVO also offers advantages while driving. The fuel burns cleanly and is virtually odourless. For anyone who wants to continue using their diesel vehicle while making a more conscious choice when refuelling, HVO100 is an attractive alternative.
